Description

Documentarian Ursula Liang takes a new angle on police brutality, unpacking the murder of Akai Gurley, an unarmed Black man shot in a New York City public housing stairwell by police officer Peter Liang (no relation). The shooting and subsequent trial set in motion a bitter clash between two minoritized communities, with Chinese American and Black protestors each demanding equity in the eyes of the law and on the streets of the city. WISCONSIN ONLY; AVAILABLE THROUGH 10/18
